Your Strategy for a Happier (and Healthier) Post-Holiday Season…

Start off 2008 the right way by planning ahead!  Instead of a season of holiday of excess, this year “Maintain – Don’t Gain.”  Three ways to stay on track:

  1. Keep score.  Take your measurements now, before the holiday season starts.  Re-take your measurements each week and you’ll be more aware of your fitness.
  2. Keep a diary.  If you’ve never kept a food diary before, this is a great time to start.  If you know you’ve got an office party coming up and you plan to binge, reduce your intake for a few days prior to keep balance.  Be strictly honest with your diary and you won’t have to take drastic measures in January!
  3. Keep moving.  It’s easy to let your exercise routines slide during the holidays.  Find new ways to add movement to  your day – taking the stairs, parking in the outer limits when you do your holiday shopping, scheduling ‘mini workouts’ wherever you can.  You’ll not only be more likely to keep off the pounds, you’ll also alleviate your holiday stress!
